This wine is 100% Merlot from vineyards located in Yountville and Oak Knoll AVA'S. Fermented in small open top fermentors and punch down by hand 3 times a day. Aged for two years in 85% French oak barrels and 15% American oak barrels, with 35% being new barrels. Abundant aromas of cherry, raspberry and layered with floral, cinnamon and vanilla notes. Full-bodied, elegant and integrated on the palate, the wine delivers an ample mix of concentrated black and red fruit. Silky tannins support a mid-palate that has many layers. An elegant finish echoes the notes of fruit and spice. Approachable now and will age gracefully. Enjoy!
HARVEST:A classic vintage for the Napa Valley, the 2013 growing season was characterized by warm days and cool nights. In the vineyards in the Oak Knoll and Yountville Districts, a dry and warm spring provided the vines with a strong start and the summer was generally mild with most days getting up into the 80’s and many nights as low as the 40’s. The early start to the season was tempered by a slightly cooler than average autumn resulting in typical harvest dates for all varieties–and grapes and wines of exceptional quality.
